El Palmar or Place of Don Juan is a English entity population or hamlet of 22,777 inhabitants in 2009 , belonging to the municipality of Murcia in Murcia ( Spain), located in the foothills of the Sierra de El Puerto, part of the Sierra Carrascoy and in the garden of the Segura River in Murcia .
El Palmar is raised above sea level 75 m. Next to the main population center runs the course of Reguerón, artificial channel built to prevent flooding of the river Guadalentín , whose mouth was in the Green Sangonera in the municipality of Murcia . His bed is dry most of the year but in the rainy season can be filled.
is located southwest of the provincial capital, Murcia , 5 km from it, in a strategic place for communications between Murcia and the Campo de Cartagena.
El Palmar is situated in a strategic zone between forest and orchard, with the pre-coastal mountains on one side and the valley of Sangonera (Guadalentín) to the other. It has always been a crossroads and throughout its history has been found in a staging area where many cultures have been converging.
Bus and tram:
is provided for the introduction of a tram, which in its second phase will link: El Palmar, Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, Western Industrial Estate and the Verde Sangonera with Murcia.

Latbus in 2008 moved his garage next to the output of the MU-30 to Highway El Palmar. Previously located in the district of Saint Pius X.
Highways:
- A-30 ( Murcia motorway, old N-301), runs between Cartagena and Albacete and links to the motorway towards Levante Madrid .
- MU-30 (Highway El Palmar - Sewer ): refers to the A-30, at the height of Reguerón with A-7/E-15 Highway and Highway C-415 (Northwest Highway) west of Sewer .
- MU-31 (connection between A-30 and MU-30 under construction): refers to the A-30, the link La Paloma, with the MU-30 highway at the height of the Industrial West.
Trains:
El Palmar has no railway station but the train station Murcia del Carmen is situated within 10 minutes and connects the city with Madrid via Albacete , and yet lift up Montpellier. Project is also building a network of high speed (AVE ) that communicate with Madrid Murcia and Valencia.
